Community Cares Backpack Program is a nonprofit organization committed to providing children suffering from chronic hunger with nutritious, easy-to-prepare food to eat when school meals are not available. Our program is designed to ensure all students maintain a balanced diet and return to school every Monday morning ready to focus on learning. Our mission is to empower children and their families by providing them with the resources they need to overcome hunger and thrive in their communities. We currently serve the district of RSU4 (Sabattus, Litchfield and Wales), but we are going to be expanding in 2024 by partnering with other rural communities.
